Meet Mike — The Quirky Art Man.

I'm Mike Roberts — The Quirky Art Man. I'm a Northern artist based in Timperley, near Manchester, and I've been told my style has a quirkiness that brings a sense of originality and flamboyance to everything I paint.

I studied art back in the '80s, but I got a bit disheartened with the scene and decided to take a break. Decades later, I've come back completely refreshed. Working out of my garden studio, my style is all about bringing imaginary characters to life with fine line work and exuberant colour.

Every character starts as a rough pencil sketch. I chase the personality first — the sideways glance, the raised eyebrow, the "don't test me" energy — and only then does the colour go in: bold, flat, and unapologetic.

From Garden Studio to Gallery Wall

Because I'm obsessed with quality, I don't just chuck these on a standard digital printer. Once a piece is finished, I hand the originals over to the team at Love To Frame. They are an established, officially Certified Hahnemühle Fine Art Studio — which is basically the royal seal of approval in the print world.
